Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my most recent experience at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of the Venue : Grimy and Neglected
From the moment I entered , it was immediately obvious that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The floorboards were filthy, and a pungent odor of stale beer and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of urine , old age and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The lavatory was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was human excrement .

For a business that serves drinks , these issues are utterly disgraceful and raise serious concerns about the quality of the food and drinks .
